Root Canal Treatment
Dr. Chavez is one of the few local dentists who performs root canal treatments.
A root canal treatment (also known as a root canal) repairs and saves an infected or badly decayed tooth. If left untreated, an abscess surrounding the bone and root can cause tooth loss. Root canal treatment involves removing the nerve, cleaning the canals, draining the infection, and filling the canals with rubber material. Fixing the crown portion of the tooth afterward is a separate procedure.
While you may have heard that root canals are very painful, this is not necessarily true. Dr. Chavez completely numbs the tooth and the area surrounding it so that you experience a mostly pain-free, gentle procedure.
